As a popular tourist destination, four 5A scenic spots cannot be missed in Inner Mongolia !

 

1、Ordos Whistling Dune Bay（2011）

Whistling Dune Bay is located in the Kubuqi Desert, Dalad Banner of Ordos City, Inner Mongolia. It situates at the easternmost borderline of desert in China and is called the Head of Dragon Desert. Han Tai Chuan River flows in front of it and Gu Zi Liang Mountain faces to the other side of the bank.

It is the large-scaled comprehensive tourism place where you take sightseeing or have fun. Accredited as 5A-Grade by the National Tourism Administration. Whistling Dune Bay is 110 meters high with a slope of 45 degrees where the huge crescent-shaped sand hills can create loud echoes. Dunes stand side by side and stretch endlessly to the further skyline. When you climb to the top with ladder and then slide downwards, you will hear roaring echoes as if an aircraft is taking offer near you. If you hold a handful of sand and squeeze them, you will make a frog-like sound. This is how Whistling Dune Bay has been named.

  

2、Genghis Khan’s Mausoleum（2011）

The mausoleum was established in 1956, covering an area of 55,000 square meters. It is one of the historical sites under top state protection in China, and the holiest place in the eyes of the Mongolian people.

The 26-meter-high Main Palace, with a huge sculpture of Genghis Khan inside, is the right place for ceremonial rituals to worship Genghis Khan. The Back Palace contains Genghis Khan's tomb, which is covered by yellow satin. The East Palace is home to Genghis Khan's wife and his fourth son Tuolei. The West Palace is used as an exhibition hall, displaying relics of the emperor.

But researchers contend that only the clothing of Genghis Khan, instead of his body, is buried in the tomb in Ejin Horo Banner. It's said to be a set rule that the burial places of Mongolian rulers should be kept secret. To this day, no one knows exactly where Genghis Khan was buried.

  

3、Manzhouli China-Russian National Boundaries Scenic Area（2016）

Manzhouli is a leisure city with both Chinese red culture and Russian culture by virtue of its unique geographical location. The city integrates the customs of China, Russia and Mongolia, known as the "window of east Asia", "Eurasian land bridge", where you can feel the culture of different countries.

The scenic area is divided into two parts: gate of China scenic area and matryoshka doll scenic area. The gate of China scenic spot is the Manzhouli city landmark tourist spot, which is also an important patriotic education base. Matryoshka doll scenic area is one of the large Russian characteristics gardens which combines Manzhouli and Russia history, culture, architecture, folk customs as the concept.

  

4、Arxan-Chaihe Scenic Area（2017）

Arxan-Chaihe Scenic Area is in the central Greater Hinggan Mountains, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, covering an area of 13,168 square kilometers. It features an exceptionally dense concentration of volcanic landforms including volcano clusters, hot springs, volcanic crater lakes and granite hills.

Arxan Chaihe scenic area is the essence of Eastern Inner Mongolia tour, where the Huancui, Qifeng show, craggy rocks and old trees gathering together. The scenic spot has 1153 main types of plants, 350 kinds of rare wild animals, 7 volcano lake groups, 9 lakes, and 70 hot spring scenic spots.
