Climate

Inner Mongolia is a landlocked region with relatively dry climate, about 1,500 meters above sea level with strong direct sunlight from June to September, so get ready for some lipstick, skin care cream, sunscreen, sunglasses, and drink more water if you are traveling during this time. But the winter gets very cold, it’s better to bring down jacket, thick sweater, hat, gloves, etc.

  

 

Clothes

In Inner Mongolia, the main tourist attractions are the deserts and grasslands. Due to the big temperature difference between day and night as well the changeable weather, please bring your own long-sleeved clothing, trousers, comfortable shoes.

Eating

Inner Mongolian food belongs to the north cuisine with heavier taste. The local restaurants will try their best to make the local food adaptable to you. Just enjoy it! Of course, there are many other flavor restaurants.

  

 

Medicine

Because of the long distance between scenic spots, please take plenty of drinking water and carsick medicine in case of carsick. In addition, please bring your own drugs for diarrhea, fever, skin allergy drugs just for emergency.

    

 

Customs & Taboos

There are many Inner Mongolia customs and taboos as follows.

1.If you meet a herd of animals on the grassland, take a detour and do not pass through the herd.

2.Enter yurts from the left side of the stove, sitting on the west and north side. The east side is the host living place, so please don’t to sit on it. When seated, please do not block the statue of Buddha which hanging on the northern Hana.

3.If you visit a herdsman’s home, herdsman will offer milk tea to you as a friendly gesture. You should take it with both hands or right hand. Never use the left hand ALONE.

4.Don't trample on the north and west side of the yurt in winter, as local nomad will drink the snow when melted.
