Western Sichuan and Jiuzhai Valley 7 Days Tour

Arrive Chengdu in the early morning. Visit Panda Base Center,  which is around 10 km north to Chengdu. As the world’s famous giant panda ex situ conservation base, scientific research and breeding base, public education base and educational tourism base, the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is famous for the protection and breeding of endangered wild animals that are unique to China, including giant pandas and red pandas. It is honored as “the national treasure’s natural paradise and the people’s land of idyllic beauty” for its beautiful environment of overlapping mountains, clean water, lush trees, and chirping birds.

Drive to Leshan. Visit Giant Buddha with cruise. The 71 meters high Leshan Giant Buddha is the largest Maitreya Buddha statue carved out of a cliff. Giant and magnificent, this is the embodiment of ancient people’s wisdom and perseverance. We will travel the Buddha Mountain, from the head of the gigantic Buddha to his enormous toes.

Drive to hotel for rest.

Full day visit Emeishan including Qingyinge, Wannian Temple with cable car up and walk down pass by Monkey Area, Golden Summit with cable car.

Drive to Pingle.Visit Pingle Ancient Town. Pingle Ancient Town is a historical and cultural town with a history of more than two thousand years. You can see traditional stilt houses by the Baimo River, streets paved with blue stones, banyan trees aged over one thousand years, and exuberant and boundless bamboo woods. Everything here relaxes and refreshes tourists. The 'Nine Antique Heritages' of the town are ancient residences and streets, old banyan trees, ancient temples, the Golden Dam, the time-honored Leshan Bridge, folk activities, traditional paper workshops, local folk songs, and an ancient post road.

Overnight in Pingle.

Drive to Dujiangyan (2 hours). Visit Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project. Dujiangyan Irrigation System, which was built in 256 BC. You will see how it is still working to irrigate Chengdu plain and be amazed by the wisdom of ancient human.

Visit Qingcheng Mountain with cable car up and walk down. Mount Qingcheng is one of the most famous Taoist mountains in China. It is also a very attractive and intriguing scenic spot that is covered by luxuriant and verdant trees. The mountain, which is surrounded by numerous peaks and is shaped like a city, is dubbed 'the most peaceful and secluded mountain under heaven' and combines perfectly with its evergreen scenery.

Continue drive to Wenchuan (2 hours)

Drive to Songpan (4.5 hours)

Upon arrival, visit Huanglong Nature Reserve including cable car up, where densely scatters thousands of colorful travertine ponds and flow streams. We walk along the hundreds of colorful lakes to the top along the wooden path, then walk down to appreciate the nice scenery along the way. Huanglong Scenic Area is famous for its colorful lakes, snow-topped mountains, beautiful valleys and virgin forests. The area, inscribed on the list of World Heritage Sites in 1992 by UNESCO, has been called a "World Wonder" and “Fairy Land on Earth."

Then walk down Songpan Ancient Town, Standing on the city wall of Songpan Ancient Town, visitors can feast their eyes on a spectacular vista of the entire ancient town. From this viewpoint, visitors can admire the surrounding mountainous landscape and the swift flowing Min River that passes through the town. As they do so, they may wish to savor one of the legendary historical stories that are associated with the area.

Drive to Jiuzhaigou. Full day visit Jiuzhaigou National Park, Jiuzhaigou and its superb and breathtaking landscapes are extremely attractive on account of the karst scenery, the large number of lakes, and spectacular waterfalls. A great number of  endangered plant and animal species, including the giant panda, inhabit this wonderland. The name Jiuzhaigou derives from the nine Tibetan villages scattered throughout the valley. Its attraction lies in its simple, idyllic beauty; it is primitive and natural and still in a pristine state. With majestic and unrivalled emerald lakes, layered waterfalls, colorful forests, snow-peaked mountains, and Tibetan folk villages, all blending in harmony with each other, it is a jewel of nature set in spectacular mountain scenery. Jiuzhaigou lies in a transitional area where northern and southern flora and fauna meet. A natural botanical and zoological garden, it is home to densely growing conifers and broadleaf trees, and to rare and endangered animal species such as the giant panda, golden snub-nosed monkey, and white-lip deer.

Overnight in Jiuzhaigou

Transfer to airport  or train station for flight or train to Chengdu. Fly or take the train  from Jiuzhai Valley to Chengdu.

Then visit Kuanzhai Alley, Jingli Old Street, Renmin Park in Chengdu.

Visit Kuanzhai Alley. Kuanzhai Alley exhibits the leisurely life of natives and represents the most typical forms of Chengdu folk culture.

Vusit Jinli Street. Chengdu is a city brimming with a strong leisurely ambience with Jinli Street as the typical representative. The street is located to the east of the Wuhou Temple of Chengdu.  visitors from all over China and abroad gather here to relax, admire the traditional-style buildings, and taste some local snacks.

Visit  People's Park. There are many famous scenic spots in the People's Park, including the Gold Water Stream, the Goldfish Island and the Potted Landscape Garden. Besides appreciating the charming landscape, tourists can sail on the artificial lake, drink tea in the teahouse by the lake and watch all kinds of exhibitions and performances on the Rockery Square. The chrysanthemum show and the Singing Crane Teahouse are time-honored and known far and wide. People will get relaxed and delighted here.

Overnight in Chengdu

Visit Wenshu Temple. Wenshu Monastery (Manjushri Monastery),  is the best-preserved Buddhist temple in Chengdu. It is the home of the Buddhist Association of Sichuan Province and Chengdu City.
