7 Days Tibet Light Trekking to Pagong Ka with Local Tibetan Village Visit

Today you are supposed to arrive Lhasa. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcome by our guide and driver and transfer to reserved hotel.  The rest of time, you can take some time rest and get better acclimatization. It is recommended not to drink any alcohol today, easy to get altitude sickness.

The first two days you are in Tibet will be put towards sightseeing inside Lhasa, to visit fabulous and typical Buddhist and historic sites, such as Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street, Sera Monastery and Drepung Monastery. In Potala palace, you can explore the grandest of this myriad chapels, its audience halls, the jeweled and Golden burial chortens(stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, thangkas, combinations of mandala, figures of the Buddha You will visit 3 important monasteries in Lhasa, the first and foremost is Johkang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism, attracts pilgrims all over Tibetan Area, built during songtsen gonpo’s reign by princess wencheng of tang dynasty, 647 A.D. The other two Monasteries Sera and Drepung Monastery locate in suburb of Lhasa, are hosted by hundreds of Monks, learning, praying, studying, living there. The famous Monks debiting is held in the courtyard of Sera Monastery in the afternoon (Except Sunday). You will also explore the circular pilgrim route Barkhor while traveling at Johkang Temple, to contact local folks here, and if possible purchase some traditional Tibetan artifacts, religious implements, antiques, books, Tibetan music instrument, Thangkas, and tradition Tibetan clothes etc.

In the morning, we drive to cliff-side Pabonka Palace 15km from city center, and visit the holy cave where Songtsen Gampo the 33rd Tibetan king used to meditate. From here, we start the day trek; hike for 30 minutes northeast up to Tashi Chöling Hermitage passing through a distance view of sky-burial place but tourists are not allowed to visit and take photos. After short break at Tashi Choling, hike continuously for about 40 minutes, ascending 300m by alternative trails to a cliff side hermitage called Tagden Ritro, where you enjoy clear spring water, birds singings and gorgeous panoramic view of Lhasa city and we can enjoy the lunch box here. From here no more ascent, slide descending towards Sera Ütse hermitage another 40minutes walk, the panoramic view of Lhasa is wider and wider. And finally, trek further for over an hour more to Purbu Jog Monastery via Raka Drak hermitage. Through this section of hiking, you can see a spectacular scenery of both Nyangra and Thokde valley. After visiting Purbu Jog this small beautiful monastery, you will be picked up by your driver near by the monastery and finish your hike. Trek Distance : 15km ,  6- 7 hours trekking

In the morning, firstly tourists will drive to Ganden monastery which is situated on the Wangpori mountain with an elevation of 3800m above sea level and is considered to be one of the “Great Three” Gelugpa monasteries, founded by the Great Tsongkhapa in 1409. It is very interesting to go for Lingkor (circuit) around the monastery and tourists can see the Great Tsongkapa’s meditation cave and the beautiful view of Lhasa valley. The Ling kora will take about 2- 3 hours to complete.
Then the team drives to Tibetan village Trubshi with an altitude of nearly 3400m where you can experience the Tibetan countryside life and have dinner with them and spend a night there.

In the Morning, you may do some Trekking in Trubshi village which is known as one of the most beautiful Tibetan villages for trekking, you can also in the family chores available. Tibet famous trekking route from Ganden to Samye monastery starts from this village. You may ride a horse (or Yak) (Horse riding is not free, please discuss the price with local people). Then after lunch at Tibetan Family in Trubshi, tourists will part with hospitable Tibetan Family and return back to Lhasa. At about 3:00pm, tourists will be in Lhasa. The rest of the day is for relaxation, you can walk around and do some shopping by yourself. Trekking distance : 2-3km,  1- 2 hours
