Clothes Packing for Xi’an Tour

Located in the hinterland of China mainland, Xi'an has large diurnal temperature throughout the year. The temperature is lower in morning and evening, but higher during daytime, which daily temperature difference is above 10 °C.

Spring (Mar. - May) 

The average temperature in March is 8 °C, rising to 14 °C in April and 19 °C in May. Long trousers and jackets are suitable in this season and one or two sweaters for alternating are necessities. 

Summer (Jun. - Aug.)

Xi'an is one of the major 'stove cities' in China, with July as its hottest month of the year. The suggested dressing in this season are T-shirts and trousers, and sunscreen and sunglasses should be prepared. When in rainy day, the temperature is down. T-shirts, trousers with jackets is suitable, and remember to bring rain gear.

Autumn (Sept.-Nov.)

Autumn in Xi'an normally starts from September and lasts till the end of November. The average temperature is about 10 °C to 16 °C. The weather is generally overcast and cool. A long-sleeved shirt or a sweater and light coat are appropriate. 

Winter (Dec.-Feb.)

In Winter, the average temperature is about -3 °C to -1 °C. It is dry and cold with a little snow. The outfit for winter is overcoat, hats, gloves, scarves, masks and drink enough water to prevent dehydration.
