Best Time to Visit Beijing

Spring (March-May): Temperature is appropriate, flowers in full bloom.

Recommended travel:

Boating on the lake in Beihai Park, visiting the famous Forbidden City, or hanging around in the Summer Palace would be a good choice if you want to explore within the city. If you want to take a tour outside the city, Great Wall can be taken into consideration. For the specific itinerary information, please refer to Beijing City and Great Wall 2 Days Tour.

Dressing:

If you visit Beijing in March and April, there may still be wind and sand. Thick coat and wear a mask (if possible) is highly recommended.

If you come in May, spring is already here. You can wear a thin coat at this time. If you are allergic to pollen, you should pay attention to it.

Autumn (September-October) : Although the autumn in Beijing is short, the air is crisp and the temperature is cozy.

Recommended travel:

The annual activity of appreciating red leaves and ginkgo is exceptionally precious. Ginkgo Avenue, scomber mackerel fishing, and Fragrant Hills overflowing with red leaves are must-go places for photographers.

Dressing:

Autumn in Beijing has big temperature difference. Temperature may rise in midday but drop dramatically at morning/night. It’s recommended to wear a shirt inside but do take a thick coat with you just in case.
